  • We Say...

Hailing from New York by way of Berklee College of Music, Jeremy Pelt's November is the excellence you would expect from not only a music scholar but also an artist featured in the Duke Ellington Big Band and who has played with Ravi Coltrane and Nancy Wilson, just to name a few. A well-oiled rhythm section and breezy leads keeps things light, fresh, and enjoyable, and the track titles keep your mind wondering. "466-64," is the most obvious allusion to Nelson Mandela's prison number turned HIV/AIDS foundation, while "Nephthys" refers to the Egyptian goddess who was sister to Isis and Osiris and mother of Anubis.
