Arthur Russell and Steve D’Acquisto ask an immortal question

  • We Say...

Loose Joints is the pairing of the polymath maverick Arthur Russell and disco denizen Steve D’Acquisto. The two met one night at Nicky Siano’s seminal (in every sense of the word) discotheque the Gallery and the result was two of the greatest and weirdest tracks ever to inspire someone to shake his tush. “Is It All Over My Face?” was originally released with a spooky male vocal and in a more experimental form. The record didn’t sell, but when Larry Levan remixed it by streamlining the groove and boosting the sibilant hi-hat sounds, he created not only one of the greatest leftfield dance tracks ever, but also one of the building blocks of house music.
